The Transmission Electron Microscopy Core Facility offers specialized service for users who want to use TEM for materials- and life science research and technology. Our equipment consists of four transmission electron microscopes, that allow to image both organic and inorganic materials, with atomic resolution if necessary. Take a look at some user highlights or the image gallery for examples of our imaging capabilities.
Especially for life science samples we also offer dedicated sample preparation, such as embedding biological samples in Spurr's epoxy resin (morphology) or LR White acrylic resin (immunocytochemistry). Fixation approaches include chemical as well as SPRF- (self-pressurized rapid freezing) fixation. Other sample processing approaches are possible on demand.
